The Pittsburgh Local Lab brings together community members, manufacturers, ecosystem partners, and industry allies to envision the future of local food production and manufacturing in and around the Pittsburgh region. This session is built specifically to connect stakeholders in the policymaking, funding, and philanthropic communities.

Overview

This session is part of a broader series of conversations that Mechanism is convening across Pittsburgh’s food production ecosystem as part of the Pittsburgh Local Lab.

This session, designed for funders, policymakers, philanthropists, and other community stakeholders, will feature a facilitated discussion about where additional capacity, stronger partnerships, and strategic investment can have the greatest impact. Together, we’ll examine which existing resources merit greater support and which new investments could help remove persistent barriers for food producers, retailers, and buyers across the region to create a stronger food system in greater Pittsburgh.

Participants will gain a clearer understanding of the challenges we’re hearing in our other conversations, as well as the recommendations that have surfaced throughout this process.
