Introduction

Join food makers, manufacturers, and processors for an open conversation about what's actually working — and what's still missing — in Pittsburgh's food production ecosystem. In just one hour, you'll help identify the resources worth investing in and the recommendations that will shape what comes next.

Who is invited?

Those who transform raw agricultural products into stable, usable ingredients (processors) and those who turn ingredients into a consumer-ready product. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Food or beverage product companies
  • Bakers
  • Breweries and distilleries
  • Large and small processing facilities
  • Meat or dairy processors
  • Value-added food producers
  • Shared commercial kitchens
  • Consumer packaged goods businesses
  • Home-based producers
  • Contract manufacturers or Co-packers

Agenda

Overview

This session is part of a series of conversations Mechanism is hosting across the Pittsburgh food production ecosystem. Rather than a presentation, expect an open discussion led by a facilitator — your input directly shapes where Mechanism focuses capacity, builds partnerships, and advocates for investment.

By attending, you'll have a direct hand in identifying which existing resources deserve more support and which new investments would remove real barriers to your business's success. You'll also hear what other makers, manufacturers, and processors in the region are facing, and learn how to get involved further.
